Embroidery Content Policy – Sacred Threads & Ethical Craft

At Bewitched Stitchin’, every design is created with care, intention, and respect. As a witch and magickal maker, I believe embroidery is more than decorative—it is expressive, personal, and powerful. Whether I’m stitching a name, a blessing, a sigil, or a joke between friends, each piece carries energy and meaning. What I choose to stitch becomes part of the world I help shape.

Because of this, I uphold firm boundaries around the content I will and will not embroider. These are not just personal preferences—they are ethical commitments, spiritual standards, and, in some cases, legal obligations.

❌ Content I Will Not Create:

I reserve the right to refuse any custom order that includes or implies the following:

❌ Derogatory, Discriminatory, or Hateful Language

This includes—but is not limited to—slurs, insults, or harmful phrases directed toward any individual or group based on their race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender identity, disability, or background.

🏛️ Please note: Under the UK Public Order Act 1986 and the Equality Act 2010, hate speech—defined as speech or behaviour that incites hatred or discrimination based on protected characteristics—is unlawful.

I will not embroider any wording or imagery that promotes, encourages, or normalises hate. My business complies fully with these legal protections and will not support or enable hate in any form.

❌ Homophobia, Transphobia, and Queerphobia

As an LGBTQIA+ inclusive business, Bewitched Stitchin’ will not entertain any content that ridicules, shames, or devalues queer identities. Love is sacred, and queer joy is honoured here.

❌ Racist, Xenophobic, or Culturally Disrespectful Messaging

I will not stitch content that degrades or stereotypes individuals based on race, nationality, or cultural heritage. Cultural celebration is welcome—cultural mockery is not.

❌ Misogyny and Gender-Based Harm

Requests that objectify, diminish, or threaten women or people of marginalised genders will not be accepted. My work honours strength in all its forms.

❌ Explicit Sexual or Violently Graphic Content

I do not embroider sexually explicit language, pornographic references, or graphically violent content. While sensuality, body positivity, and empowerment are beautiful, vulgar or offensive material is not aligned with the sacred nature of my work.

❌ Extremist or Hate Group Symbolism

I will not stitch any symbols, slogans, numbers, or codes associated with hate groups, fascist movements, conspiracy ideologies, or acts of violence.

❌ Humiliation or Bullying

Even when meant in jest, I will not create embroidery designed to shame, ridicule, or humiliate someone—especially when the target has not consented. My work is made for love, not mockery.

🧵 What I Gladly Embroider:

My door is always open to ideas that honour personal truth, humour, connection, and magick. I joyfully welcome:

  • Affirming and empowering quotes or names.
  • Inside jokes and gifts filled with meaning.
  • Witchy, celestial, ancestral, or spiritual designs.
  • LGBTQIA+ pride and celebration.
  • Cultural heritage pieces (when shared respectfully).
  • Pet memorials, mantras, and healing messages.
  • Soft, silly, fierce, rebellious, or sacred sentiments

If your design celebrates who you are, who you love, what you’ve overcome, or what you believe in—it would be my honour to bring it to life.

🌙My Ethos as a Magickal Maker

As a practitioner of witchcraft, I understand that creation is energy made tangible. I do not take on work that I cannot stand behind spiritually or ethically. My craft is grounded in the belief that every thread holds weight—that every stitch carries intention.

I protect my space, my energy, and my business by ensuring that I only create pieces that align with these values. This isn’t just about brand image—it’s about magickal integrity.

🤝 If You’re Not Sure

If you're unsure whether your design falls within these boundaries, you're welcome to reach out. I’m always happy to discuss your vision and explore how we can shape it into something meaningful, appropriate, and aligned with the spirit of Bewitched Stitchin’.

Sometimes, it’s just a matter of rewording or reframing—and collaboration is part of the magick.

🌟 Final Word

Bewitched Stitchin’ is more than a small business. It’s a sacred space, a safe space, and a celebration of creativity, identity, and connection. My embroidery exists to uplift—not to harm. And I will always defend that mission with kindness, clarity, and conviction.

Thank you for understanding—and thank you for supporting handmade art that honours both heart and humanity.

With thread and intention,

Neil | Magickal Director, Bewitched Stitchin’
